The beauty of creating a collage is in its unrestricted and free process. There are no rules, lines to follow or size restrictions. Your collage can be on any topics you choose and it allows you the opportunity to express yourself in a more abstract fashion.

A collage is simply a collection of pieces put together on paper or some kind of backing on a common theme.

There is no set way to put your collage together - this is your decision. And the subjects are endless.

You can make a collage on:

an emotion
an event
a goal
a dream
a person
a place
a need
a definition (love is...)
and so on

What you will need is:

Something for backing (paper, cardboard, fabric)
Felts, crayons, etc

Maybe some of these:

bits of fabric, ribbon or string
pressed flowers

The possibilities are endless. Combine things that appeal to you on the backing in any way shape or form that suits you. If you want to put a protective coating, try mixing white glue with water (2 parts glue to 1 part water) and brush the surface. Let dry.
